Areas we serve
Pet Care Across Southern Maine
From the beaches in Wells to Portland, Sebago Lake, Brunswick and Lewiston/Auburn, we cover six southern Maine towns and the areas around them. Your pet stays on its own routine at home, and there's a quiet boarding home in Portland if you'd rather they come to us.
- Boarding at our quieter Portland home
- Any animal, not just dogs and cats
- A photo and a text after every visit
Southern Maine runs from the coast at Wells up through Portland, Maine’s largest city, and inland to Sebago Lake and the Androscoggin River. Whether your pet’s world is a city home, a beach town or a camp by the water, the care starts the same way: a free meet and greet at your home, then visits built around your pet’s routine.
What your pet gets when we come to you
Most animals are calmest in their own space. When we visit, your dog keeps its bed and its yard, your cat keeps its window, and nothing about the day has to be learned from scratch. Mealtimes, medications and bathroom breaks happen when they normally would.
That also keeps your pet clear of the crowds a daycare brings. You may trust your own dog completely, but you can’t vouch for every dog in the room, and one-on-one care means that question never comes up.
Before the first booking
Every new client starts with a free visit at home, where your pet meets the sitter before anything is booked. We go over feeding, medications, where things are, which door your dog bolts through and what makes your pet nervous. We’re also fully insured, CPR and pet first-aid certified, and Lindsay has 18 years of experience behind her, after a start in animal shelters and pet stores.
After every visit you get a photo and a text, so you can see your own pet at the end of the day.
Six towns, six sets of rules
Dog rules in southern Maine change from one town line to the next. Wells closes its beaches to dogs from 8am to 6pm in the summer. Portland sets off-leash hours at a few named places. Brunswick asks for a leash on every trail we list. Lewiston has its own limit on leash length.
We read each town’s rules so you don’t have to. Your dog’s town page has the details we could confirm, and we leave out anything we couldn’t.
A quiet place to board
Our Portland home is the quieter of our two boarding homes, with far fewer animals than Lindsay’s lively Milford house. Pets stay in the home with the household, not in a kennel run, and every stay starts with a meet and greet so we both know it’s a good fit.
That quiet matters for shy pets, older pets, and dogs or cats who don’t do well around other animals. If your pet would be better off staying put, we’ll say so too.
Lake country
Sebago Lake, which touches both Sebago and Windham, is Maine’s deepest lake and its second largest, and it supplies Greater Portland’s drinking water. If you have a house or camp in this part of the state, your pets can stay right where they are while you’re away, with a sitter who comes to them.
Which kind of visit fits your pet
- Dog walking: for every size, from puppies learning the leash to seniors taking hills slowly. A dog is walked alone or with its own housemates, never with dogs from other homes.
- Drop-ins: 15 minutes to an hour or more for a midday potty break, meals, medication or company for a cat home alone.
- Overnight sitting: someone in your home from 7pm to 9am, so your animals keep their own beds and schedule.
- Constant care: a person with your pet the whole time, for puppies, elderly animals, recovery after surgery, anxious animals or big packs, where paying per animal gets costly.
Ticks all year
Maine CDC says ticks can be active on any day above freezing, so a tick check after walks is worth keeping up well past summer.

Don't see your town? Just ask. We travel, and distance is factored into the quote.
Yes. Our Portland home is the quieter of our two boarding homes, with far fewer animals, so it suits pets who are shy, older, or don't do well with other dogs and cats.
No. Each town sets its own, and some change with the season, like the summer beach hours in Wells and Portland's off-leash windows. Each town page lists what we found, and where we couldn't confirm a rule we left it out rather than guess.
A daycare room holds dogs you've never met, and that mix is where scuffles and sickness can spread. When one sitter looks after your dog on its own, those risks aren't in the picture, and your dog also stays in a place it knows with its own smells and its own bed.
Yes. Visits cover birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and other rodents, reptiles, fish and livestock too. For a reptile we check the enclosure temperature and humidity against your numbers, and for fish we measure the exact amount of food.
