- Drop-ins for any animal
- Free meet and greet in your home
Brunswick is a Cumberland County town on the Androscoggin River and Maquoit Bay, home to Bowdoin College and the former Naval Air Station Brunswick. Whatever your own schedule looks like, we fit around it: walks from your door, drop-ins for cats and small pets, and overnights when you’re away.
Leashed walks around Brunswick
Brunswick’s town parks and its land trust are clear about dogs: welcome, on a leash, dawn to dusk.
- Brunswick Town Commons: the town’s oldest park, with wooded trails and a trailhead on Harpswell Road.
- Maquoit Bay Conservation Land: 124 acres with a 0.6-mile trail to a rocky outcrop over the bay. Hunting is permitted in season.
- Coffin’s Ice Pond: a small conservation park off Harpswell Road with a footbridge over the spillway.
- Crystal Spring Farm: the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust’s farm and trails near downtown. Pick up after your dog and stay on marked trails.
A good place to learn the leash
Every trail above asks for a leash at all times, which suits a puppy still working out how to walk beside a person. We keep young dogs on a pace they can manage and let them sniff, and we take older dogs slowly on the same routes.
Parks that close at dusk mean a short winter window for walking. A midday visit lands in the daylight your dog has, so it isn’t waiting until you get home after dark.
What your pet gets from each visit
Before we ever book a visit, we meet your pet at home. We sit down with you and go over feeding, medications, where things are and what makes your pet nervous, and nothing is booked until you’re comfortable.
Drop-ins then run from 15 minutes to an hour or more. For a cat home alone they bring company and play, fresh water and litter. For a rabbit, a guinea pig, a bird or a reptile they mean the right food and the right enclosure conditions, not just a full bowl. A photo and a text arrive afterwards.

Away overnight, and not alone
On an overnight stay, someone arrives at 7pm and stays until 9am. Your animals keep their own beds and their own schedule. We follow your evening routine, including when the last trip outside happens and whether the cat sleeps on the bed.
A photo arrives at bedtime and another when you’d be waking up. A pet off its food or a power outage gets a call, not a note the next day.
When your pet needs a person nearby
Some pets need more than a visit. A puppy who can’t be left, an elderly animal who needs help getting up, a dog on medication that can’t be missed, or a dog with separation anxiety who hurts itself alone can have a person with it the whole time. It’s also a good fit for big packs, where paying per animal gets costly. After surgery we work from the vet’s written discharge instructions, whether that means a cone, crate rest or stitches.
Getting there and back
A vet or grooming appointment on a workday is simpler when someone can take your dog for you. We drive dogs to the groomer, daycare, vet or anywhere else, each one buckled into a dog seatbelt, and a crate is there if you’d like one.
That helps with appointments that land in the middle of your workday.
Why not a crowd?
Some dogs love company, and a busy room can still be the wrong place for them. You may know your own dog well, but you can’t know every dog enrolled in a daycare’s program, and mixing strangers is how fights and illness start. With a sitter at home the risk is gone, and your dog hears the sounds of its own street.
Weekend and holiday visits cost a little extra, and last-minute bookings are possible when we have availability.
Seasons on the bay
Hunting is allowed at Maquoit Bay in season, so bright colors on you and your dog make sense in the fall. Maine CDC says ticks can be active on any day above freezing, so tick checks after trail walks are a year-round habit. In winter we rinse or wipe paws after every walk to clear off road salt.
Boarding in Portland
If you’d rather your pet stay with us, our quieter Portland home is the nearer of our two boarding homes. Pets live in the house with the household, not in a kennel run, and a bed or blanket from home comes along. Every boarder has a meet and greet first, and we say so honestly if it isn’t a good fit.

Yes, we walk puppies as well as adult dogs and seniors. We put the leash or harness on inside your door, take the walk at a pace that suits a young dog, and bring him back to fresh water and wiped paws.
They keep their own bed, smells and routine, and they aren't sharing space with animals their owners have never met. For a pet that's anxious, old or sick, that steadiness is often the point.
